Hi, we have a Fiat Ducato Camper 2.3 multijet 2 that has just developed a fault. I,ve connected it to my code reader and it is showing P2111 - throttle actuator control system stuck open. My question being is it an easy fix or a garage job. Thanks for any replies.
Is the Fiat Ducato powerful enough? The Fiat is as fast and powerful as it needs to be. The engine is shared with other brands in the Stellantis stable, so it is a well-tested drivetrain. Depending on which variation you choose, there is a 120hp, 140hp or 160hp version derived from the 2.2 litre Diesel engine.
In comes a new family of 2.2L engines bearing the name Multijet 3 for use by all three brands. They range in maximum power outputs from 140bhp to 180bhp when hooked up to the nine-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Ignore the fact that this is a slightly smaller engine under the bonnet of the Ducato than the one it replaces.
Fiat Cylinder Head Bolts Fits Models: Ducato, Scudo, Ulysse Engine Codes: 4HP, 4HR, 4HS, 4HT, RH02, RHH, RHK, RHM, RHR, RHV, RHX, RHZ, DW10BTED4OEM Numbers
Feb 19, 2019. #3. Change a timing belt every 5 years or 100,000 miles whichever comes first, and whatever the car. In hot climates take 25% off those figures. If the belt does not drive a camshaft (some Ford diesels) there is no hurry at all as breakage will not cause the valves and pistons to contact each other.
@RR58, if you use MES you can run the engine and do live observation of the LP EGR and it's cooler temperature. If you run a hot engine at steady 1500 revs you can watch the LP EGR opening in millimeters, if it's in the 4.7 region and the temperature doesn't go up quickly to 80-110 degrees then the cooler is blocked with soot and needs replacing or cleaning out.
I have a campervan based on a Fiat Ducato chassis but cannot find agreement on what engine oil to use in it. It is a 2017, 2.3 Multijet 2 150 (NOT stop and start !). Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks. Bill
As far as I know, although the block is a Ford one, the Ducato gearbox is from Peugeot/Citroen who do both 5 and 6 speed gearboxes that mount to the 2.2l PUMA engine, although only the 5 speed will be found in a Ducato, Oil replacement is a question of draining via the drain plug at the bottom of the diff. and then refilling with the prescribed amount through the breather (remove the plastic cap).
The benefits. In the case of the Fiat Ducato 160 Multijet 160hp engine, our ECU remapping file is tailored for more power and torque, reduced fuel consumption, smoother acceleration and improved throttle response. By optimising the torque curve the Fiat Ducato 160 Multijet 160hp engine produces more torque at lower RPM.
