I agree; just keep topping it up; 1L every 500km is normal for many cars although my 1.2 8v Mk1 Punto (212,000m) uses no oil between services but my wife's 1.6 old style Tigra has used 1L for every 250 miles for the last 100,000 miles and otherwise goes well..
